In December of 2008 Rusty and Lauren helped to plan a pre-event party to benefit the Meyer Center for Special Children and it's annual Ladies' Holiday Luncheon. The event was featured in the February 2009 edition of the Greenville Talk magazine where their pictures below were included along with their spouses.

The Meyer Center is a non-profit organization that provides a life-changing, educational haven for children with physical disabilities and developmental delays. We consider it a great privilege to help in raising support so they can continue doing this life-changing work in so many children's lives.

Rusty has volunteered as a table captain for the 2008 and 2009 Boy Scouts of America Patron Dinner to benefit the Blue Ridge Council, Boy Scouts of America. Funds raised at this dinner provide the Scouting program to more than 18,700 young people in the Upstate. Scouting continues to thrive due to these volunteers who provide the funds necessary to support their mission "to instill values in young people that will last a lifetime".
